About US

Stav Kontou

As a child I always struggled with my weight; coming from a Greek-Cypriot background it wasn’t always easy to say no to the hearty, rich food served up in front of me. Despite this, I would always be very enthusiastic about sport and take part whenever I could.
It wasn’t until I was age 14 and weighing (around) 18 stone that I decided to truly shape up. 6 months of relentless hard work later and 4 stone lost, I felt the lifestyle changes I had made benefitted my health for the long-term. I know how it feels to start out, with all negative thoughts swimming around in your head, but the truth is you can achieve whatever you want with willpower and targeting.
10 years on, I still feel the love for fitness for what it has helped me overcome. Since then I have represented my local rugby team, completed assault courses and challenged myself daily in the gym.
I have lost weight, gained muscle, developed technique and have become a better sportsman!
I became a personal trainer because I want to share my experiences and help you be the best person you can be in health and in mind.

I have always had a passion for food from a young age as my mum was a chef and my Nana is head of Women’s Institute in her area. I always remember home cooked meals such as roast dinners, Shepherds pie and corned beef beenie bake! Food always awakened an excitement in me inspiring me to study food at A level and read a degree in Food & Nutrition at Sheffield Hallam university. I knew I wanted a career in it!

I have worked in the industry for 7 years and have held food safety, quality and development roles in this time in bakery, chilled meats and eggs.

Stav and I love travelling and have been blessed to visit many places in South East asia. I love Pan-Asian cuisine as it has the ability to warm your soul and your belly! (Check the chilli rating – Medium is not medium!!). I do believe, however, that you can’t beat British classics as I’m a true nostalgia queen.

Whatever your food preference and dietary requirements, food can always be delicious and filling. I have a passion for developing healthy meal plans to suit specific needs.
